Institutional Approach

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences explicitly focuses on the sustainable relational approach to interactions between humans, animals and ecosystems. The university features a regenerative landscape designed eco-campus, which incorporates the whole surrounding community of Ultuna as part of the sustainable campus. The design process that they are establishing now exists as a blueprint for incorporating the needs of the human community and surrounding ecosystem into campus design - so-called regenerative campus design. The blueprint incoporates central principles of self-organizing systems, manifested in functional requirements such as housing, industry-research collaboration, transportation and community-integrated landscapes.
