The University of Brescia, Italy, focuses their sustainability approach on the well-being of all generations by taking into account various dimensions such as social, ethical, economic, ecological and eco-systemic aspects. The university has taken an innovative approach to sustainability literacy and communication via the “SDGs at the Theater” initiative, which aimed to disseminate and teach about the UN 2030 SDGs agenda among the academic community and local residents of Brescia. The learning initiatives were a series of lectures and events held at public theaters on a bi-monthly basis, which encouraged public participation. The university also has several circular campus sustainability initiatives.
