Institutional Approach

The North China Electric Power University in Beijing is entirely oriented around electric power research and innovation. They are affiliated with a council of large state-owned power corporations via whom they test and implement renewable energy innovations. The university is home to a School of Renewable Energy, offering Master’s degrees in Renewable Energy and Clean Energy. They have recently experimented and performed feasibility studies for a student-centered initiative where individuals engage in carbon trading as a means to achieving a low-carbon campus.
