Institutional Approach

The Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Colombia has a circular, carbon-neutral and close to zero-energy sustainable campus strategy, developed and maintained using a living lab approach. One of the central pillars of the campus, alongside carbon-neutrality is a 'connected campus': their living lab approach, which engages both students and external visitors to the campus to engage in research 'hot-beds' related to the circular campus. The university structures student experiences into additional research hot-beds in other disciplines.
